Good evening everyone,
Look at this beautiful RAK Christmas ornament from Angela, we did a private exchange in the fall and what she mailed to me never arrived and she was kind enough to send me another one. The finishing on it is beautiful! It's a LK pattern and she used DMC threads, stitched on lugana.
I managed to find some stitching interest today, finished stitching my exchange piece, I'll work on making it an ornament later this week while it's raining as predicted for 5 strait days. Then I decided to stitch an ornament for myself, since I haven't done one this year for my ornie tree. I pulled out the 2011 JCS ornie magazine and started Love and Joy by JBW, it's a quick stitch, I believe I will have it completed by tomorrow.
Friday night is the monthly stitch in, I plan on attending this one! It's the cookie exchange meeting, my kids are done with soccer games, practices and meetings, the DD isn't scheduled to work, I won't be rushed. I always take something to stitch when I do attend, but never pull it out, I paruze the store, gab a bit, and end up making a purchase of some sort. It's a beautiful store, but you add 15+ women in it and there isn't any room, and I can't stitch well without my magnifier, I have the little one that attaches to the Q snaps, but I find it frustrating and just have more admiring everyone else's projects.
WEll, time to get dinner in the oven, working on a Shepherds Pie. Yumm.
Blessings to everyone

Fall is in the air
Good afternoon dear friends,
Thank you so much for stopping by. It's been a little bit busy for me this past week.
Finishing up our high school soccer this season with a post season state tournament, boys, lost to a penalty kick last night so they won't advance, the girls have their first game tonight. I can't believe I survived! Just over 2 months of being parent administrator, phew, collecting money, placing orders, emails emails and more emails, trying to work with subway on pregame meals (that was a nightmare, even with a spreadsheet of dates and items, two times they forgot to make the order, another day they made the order and wondered where I was, wrong month! ugh, I think next year I'll ask someone to coordinate that) OK, well, the season is near over and I won't be running around with my head cut off, but I love to watch the kids play. Very exciting for me.
Today I found myself just going up to the spare room to pull some floss, two hours later...the room is tidy, things are more organized, now, I just need a nice big desk to set up my Janome embrodeiry machine that my mom gave me...I hope by the end of the year once I've met some commitments on the exchange rounds that I can dive in and learn or find some quilting shops that offer lessons.
Well, there were a few times I should have been stitching the shepherds bush piece, but ended up playing with some fabric pumpkins, I found several free patterns on cute pumpkins and tried them. I'm not a fantastic sewer, but I love them, I think they are too cute. Next I'd like to try one of the more difficult patterns and use several different fabrics in one...Here are the two I wipped up, they are quick, under an hour to make
I hope this weekend is good, DH has signed up for the Tough Mudder copetition in Maysville KY. There is a team of 15ish participating, I signed up to volunteer but haven't heard back yet. It is a several mile (10-12) obstacle course designed by the Britsh special forces. I look at the website and think what the hell is he thinking, he isn't an old man but he's not a spring chicken. Can't wait, I do hope that I can volunteer, make sure the mud is muddy or simply hand out water...should be an interesting weekend weekend, but I'm not afraid to ask for a few prayers for everyones safety during this event. All they support the wonded worrier project so I do admire that.
I hope you have a pleasant week, enjoy the fall weather and the crisp air, crunchy leaves and stitching.
Blessings,
Dawn

We've also had some nights dip into the 30's, Duncan has come up to our bed and wedged himself between our pillows while I'm in the shower, of course, after I've already made the bed....wish the kids didn't have to be at school so early (starts at 7:15 here), I think we would all like to sleep in.I hope this weekend is good, DH has signed up for the Tough Mudder copetition in Maysville KY. New Stash and catching up
Dear Friends,
another birthday (44) came and went this weekend, DH bought me more beads for my Pandora Bracelet, I happily told him there is plenty of room for more ! We spent the afternoon at the movies and then dinner at Red Robin, it was 95* outside, I didn't want to do anything fancy in that kind of heat and I was happy to spend it with my family.
So I made it to My LNS and picked up my Two Yellow Houses and Hill house by LHN, I was so excited she called me and said they had come in. I've already started on the Yellow houses. Oh was just to excited, so yet another day went by where I neglected to work on Shepherds bush.
I have a personal exchange that I am doing with another blogger and went downstairs to finish that and also finished a pillow for Mom (going to visit her this weekend) and a piece that I tried my luck with framing, it wasn't to difficult, I started with a small piece and as I gain confidence I will attempt bigger projects.
Well, Summer is in full swing, yard work is calling to us, the heat is on, the kids are home. Enjoy your week!

Duncan and Chloe |
Good afternoon everyone, I just realized that a good amount of time has gone by and this blog has been neglected. Here is this past weeks events, both my kids had soccer tryouts for Next Spring! conditioning starts on June 11th for their High school team. I missed my lns stick in last night as I had to take my daughter to graduation, the band was required to play at it. sigh. OK, well, I mailed off my box for the Stitched with Love exchange, my first time participating, at this time I can't post a picture. I have finished 3 more smalls, for another exchange that I am participating in, I can show you two of them, but not the third. I have also started my LNS Iced tea with silks, it is so pretty but the silk is driving me batty. hope to finish it by Monday, I'll be happy if I get a moment to stitch today. I am waiting for my lns to get in two yellow houses and hill house as she sold the few she had before I could get to them! damn the bad luck, lol. as if I don't have enough stash....nuff said
Hope you all have a pleasant and blessed weekend! Thanks for visiting!
