Happy Monday

Good morning friends and a special wave to my new followers, thank you for stopping by.

I finished Hope on Saturday night and started a new stitch, Blossoms Home by All Through the Night.
I was so happy to get stitching in with little discomfort and actually finish it.  My hand gets tired and I don't have a lot of strength yet but I can stitch!  The scar is healing well equally.  A special thank you to everyone who has been emailing me asking how I have been doing, your friendship is truly appreciated.

It's a very rainy Monday here...perfect for stitching!  Have a wonderful week everyone, be blessed.

Hugs and stitches,

Catching up

Good morning dear friends,
Just got back from the doctors office, yeh the stitches are out but I look like I belong to the Frankenstein family.  With lots of massaging the scar will fade and it will look like I never had the surgery.

So here are the pictures of me now....stitches out but tight and tender, will go away with time.

Also, if anyone is going to have surgery then let me offer this tip...use Glad's pree n seal wrapper over your bandages in the shower and you won't have to worry about wrapping in plastic bags and still getting wet, this stuff is a life saver...

Also here is my lovely stitched with Love  exchange I received from  Kathy at Kathy's sit and stitch
She made the most beautiful snowman pillow, the tiniest of beads are attached.  It is a Ursala Michaels design done on 32 count white Lugana.  I wish the pictures would show how beautiful it is.

I sent Christina of Whilstirisnaps in lovely England a pinkeep  from a pattern Bent Creek called Cozy done on miscellaneous linen and Dmc floss.

I also did another Seasonal Exchange  and did a pinkeep from Jbw designs called French Country Ice Skate.  This went to Germany, for Gaby, but she has no blog.

My baby Duncan turned 6 yesterday, it was another lazy I eventful day for him. It snowed overnight so Chloe was out playing in it, Duncan prefers the fireplace.

I think this is all for now.  Have a blessed day now I'm off to see if I can get some stitches in. ;)

Missing stitching

I had my hand surgery yesterday, a carpel tunnel release and a guyon's canal release on my left hand. I have to say all went well and my care was terrific, even had the same nurse that took care of me for my right hand in 2010. I know I will feel better in a few weeks but at the moment I have some discomfort, even with the nerve block. I spent some time this morning reading everyone's lovely blogs but haven't replied, but everyone's projects are beautiful. I'm already anxious to stitch but was quickly reminded that isn't possible at the moment. Thank you for the emails wishing me luck. I appreciate your kind thoughts and friendship.

Busy Busy Week

Good evening everyone,

I can't believe how fast this week has gone.  DH was on the mend and back to work!  Yeh.  I got my new gas oven- Yeh Yeh (our kitchen was electric and DH put in a gas line to the kitchen for me), my son used my stove before I did!  Got to love a kid who's comfortable in the kitchen.  We took the other stove to MIL and hung out with family all day last Friday.  I know my SIL is pregnant but she hasn't told us yet so we had to play stupid, lol.   Andrew's indoor soccer team won their first game of the season Sunday, woo too!  Go Crew.  Ashley and I went to LNS where I bought some threads and linen (now mind you I'm about to have hand surgery on the 26th and I'm buying supplies like I'll pick right up where I left off)  I need to find a way to hold a Qsnap while my left hand will be in a half cast :'0
Then we went to the "rich" mall, that's where you may see's standard poodles walking around in the Apple Store, or see a Cincy Bengal shopping.  Anyways, Ashley went to the Vera Bradley store and bought herself a backpack and wallet (the best part it was with her own money from her job!)  So proud that she saves and thinks about what she really wants before making random purchases.  Then she and I enjoyed a lunch at the Cheesecake Factory- and we made it out without eating any cheesecake!

I've just been running around doing pre-op appointments and then Ashley has a really bad toothache and will finally see the dentist tomorrow, she was put on Antibiotics and Tylenor 3, which tore her stomach up last night so we were both up for a few hours, her 5 day weekend was now a 6 day weekend.

ohhh, and furbaby #2 is ONE today!  yeh, I don't know where the year has gone, she was a fluffy ball of fur and she still is, only 60 pounds now.

Lastly, I have been doing all kinds of stitching and sewing and finishing but most are exchanges so I can't share pictures yet.  I have made small progress on Baby it's cold outside, I really love it and will be trying to spend more time working on it before next week.

Enjoy!
sewing a Spurs logo on a shirt-favorite basketball team
the collar got sewed into the design -- OHH the pain!
LOL, I even checked but obviously not enough
a new cleaning shirt

Ashley proud of her purchase

New stove- ohhh with a grille, I'm so excited to try it out

a pretty snow, 5 " in 3 hours and melted before nights end

Andrew practicing driving today- he did really well

Love My Mug

Good morning everyone,

Did you ever have something small but gave you big amusement?  I bought this mug last year at Pier One and every time I use it I just have to chuckle, it really tickles my fancy.  There is a small chill in the house so I decided to have a cup of hot chocolate.  Does it help that it's fat free whip cream?  lol

On the stitching front, I have no progress to show as I am trying to finish up on a spring exchange.  My hand will be out of commission for 2 weeks and I need to get this finished so I can have it in the mail on time.  I am scheduled to have a carpel tunnel release done  on my left hand on the 26th.  If any of you have gone through this then you know it is a piece of cake and best thing you ever did, however, your hand is a half cast for 2 weeks-ish.  So it won't lend itself useful to hold onto a q-snap.  I do have plans however to play play play on the sewing machine!  I am so tempted to sign up for one more exchange but I do want to be realistic....sigh. I'm so far behind on the Christmas ornie SAL already and it's only month 2!  grrr.

All is well here, sun is shining, dogs are snoring, house is quiet, DH is sick in bed so it's really quiet, ohh, but I do hear birds chirping!  Love how happy they are,(when they don't have a Chloe chasing them away)

We went to Jungle Jims the other night to kill some time, it's a huge international market place, we were goofing off,  tried some Buffalo jerky, tasted like beef but the texture was smoother, they had alligator jerky but we passed.  Other assortment of meats, kangaroo, ostrich, venison, buffalo, any part of a pig you can think of, like the pig head looking up at you?  Reminds me of the butcher shops when I lived in Italy!  They offer so many food items from around the world, it's ridiculous, however, all the things that I loved to buy in Italy- sigh, they don't have any of them, lol.
I told my husband to buy some alligator jerky and if he encounters the same gators on the golf course in South Carolina this year as he did last year, hold out the jerky and show them what happened to their aunty, lol.
Ashley ready for spanish class

Yep, that's a pig head staring up at me, the tongues were right next to it, ummm, I'll pass

Alligator Jerkey- again, no thanks, lol.

I hope everyone has a fantastic week and hopefully I'll have progress on something to show you soon.
Hugs and Blessings to everyone!

Some Progress

Good morning!  Welcome to my new members and hello to everyone!  I have been working on Baby It's Cold Outside and I'm making some great progress...I am in love with the Pomegranate color, just the right shade for this house.

Chloe sneaking up on the couch last night, she's not allowed on the furniture and she slowly leans and before you know it, she tries to be a lap dog.

I went home this past weekend for a surprise birthday/family get together for my dad who turns 80 today.  Anyways...we had lake effect snow the whole time we were there.  I love snow! These are looking over the vineyard.

I hope everyone has a happy Wednesday!
